What is Glucomannan Complex?

Glucomannan Complex is a natural fibre supplement designed to support weight management with glucomannan as its active ingredient. Taken before meals as part of a calorie-controlled diet, it helps you feel fuller so it’s easier to eat less.

Glucomannan is a water-soluble fibre from the root of the konjac plant. It soaks up many times its own weight in water and forms a thick gel in your stomach. That gel takes up space and helps you feel full, so it’s easier to eat less without relying on willpower alone.

How Glucomannan Complex works

1. Take it before your meal
Take two capsules (1g) with a large glass of water, around 30 minutes before each main meal.

2. It expands in your stomach
Glucomannan absorbs the water and forms a gel, taking up space and slowing how quickly your stomach empties.

3. You'll feel fuller, sooner
That fullness helps you eat less at your meal, and across the day.

4. It works with your diet, not instead of it
Glucomannan supports weight loss as part of a calorie-controlled diet. It's a tool to make eating less feel easier. It works alongside eating well, not in place of it.

What to expect

Glucomannan isn't a quick fix. What it does is make a calorie-controlled diet easier to stick to, taking the edge off hunger during and between meals.

It works best when you:

  • Take the full daily amount, before meals, with plenty of water
  • Eat a calorie-controlled diet, which is when glucomannan supports weight loss
  • Give it time and stay consistent

Results vary from person to person. Glucomannan supports your weight loss as part of eating fewer calories overall; on its own, without cutting calories, it won't do the work.

How Glucomannan Complex compares

Glucomannan is a supplement, not a medication. It works differently from prescription weight-loss treatments, and it suits different people at different stages.

How to take
Glucomannan Complex

  1. Take two capsules (1g) with a large glass of water (around 250ml), about 30 minutes before each main meal.
  2. Take a dose before each of your three main meals - six capsules (3g) a day in total. Don't exceed this.
  3. Always take it with plenty of water, so the fibre can expand properly. Never take it dry.
  4. If you take other medicines by mouth, take them at least one hour before, or a few hours after, glucomannan, because fibre can affect how they're absorbed.
  5. Don't take it right before lying down or going to bed.
  6. Don't exceed the recommended daily dose.

FAQs

Quick answers to get you started See all FAQs
What is Glucomannan Complex? +
It's a natural fibre supplement made from konjac root, with glucomannan as its active ingredient. It absorbs water and expands in your stomach to help you feel fuller for longer, making it easier to eat less as part of a calorie-controlled diet.
Is it safe to take? +
For most adults, yes, when it's always taken with enough water. Because it swells, it should never be taken dry, and it isn't suitable for anyone with difficulty swallowing or a condition affecting the throat, gullet or bowel, as it could cause choking or a blockage. Stop and seek medical advice if you have chest pain, or difficulty swallowing or breathing after taking it. It isn't suitable if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, or have a history of an eating disorder, unless a healthcare professional has advised you otherwise.
How much water should I take it with? +
Always take each dose with at least one large glass of water. This is important: glucomannan swells quickly as it absorbs liquid, so take each dose with plenty of water to help it expand safely in your stomach.
How and when do I take it? +
Take two capsules (1g) with a large glass of water about 30 minutes before each main meal, up to three times a day (maximum 3g per day). That's six capsules (3g) a day in total. Always take it with plenty of water.
How much weight can you lose with glucomannan? +
Glucomannan can support gradual weight loss when it's taken alongside a calorie-controlled diet. Results vary from person to person depending on your diet, activity and how consistently you take it, and it works best as part of a wider weight-management plan rather than on its own.
